Honey Sriracha Crispy Chicken Rice Bowl recipe step by step
Ingredients:
For Crispy Chicken:
- 300g boneless chicken, thinly sliced
- Himalayan pink salt, to taste
- Black pepper powder (kali mirch powder), to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida), sifted (or as required)
- 2 eggs (anday), whisked (or as required)
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes (or as required)
- Cooking oil for frying
For Sautéed Vegetables:
- 1 tsp cooking oil
- ¼ cup boiled peas (matar)
- ½ cup boiled corn kernels
- ½ cup diced capsicum (shimla mirch)
- ½ cup diced onion (pyaz)
- ¼ tsp black pepper powder (kali mirch powder)
- ¼ tsp Himalayan pink salt (or to taste)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
For Honey Sriracha Sauce:
- 2 tsp cooking oil
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic (lehsan)
- 1 ½ tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
- 1 ½ tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (til ka tel)
- ¼ cup water (or as required)
For Serving:
- Boiled rice (chawal)
- Sliced cucumber (kheera)
- Black and white sesame seeds (til)
- Spring onion leaves (hara pyaz) for garnish
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the Crispy Chicken
- Season the thin chicken slices with Himalayan pink salt and black pepper powder on both sides.
- Coat the chicken in sifted all-purpose flour, then dip it in whisked eggs.
- Next, coat the chicken with crushed cornflakes for extra crunch.
- Heat cooking oil in a wok and fry the chicken pieces on medium flame until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.
Step 2: Sauté the Vegetables
- In a frying pan, heat 1 tsp of cooking oil and add boiled peas, corn kernels, diced capsicum, and diced onion.
- Season with black pepper powder, Himalayan pink salt, and soy sauce.
- Sauté on medium flame for 1-2 minutes and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Honey Sriracha Sauce
- In another frying pan, heat 2 tsp of cooking oil and add chopped garlic. Sauté for a minute.
- Add tomato paste and mix well.
- Stir in sriracha sauce, honey, soy sauce, tomato ketchup, and sesame oil. Mix well.
- Add water and cook for about a minute until the sauce thickens.
- Turn off the flame, add the fried chicken pieces, and coat them well in the sauce.
Step 4: Serve
- Serve the crispy chicken with boiled rice and sautéed vegetables.
- Garnish with sliced cucumber, black and white sesame seeds, and chopped spring onion leaves.
